Transitioning Into Entrepreneurship
Cayla: How did you end up in entrepreneurship?
K: I was working for Vascular Doctors and I went through a really bad breakup. I feel like all blossoms are from bad breakups.
And it’s funny because my ex before that one was a personal trainer! And I was like “you’re dumb, you meal prep” (laughs).
Cayla: Okay, so you weren’t really into fitness before that?
K: Not really. I never struggled with weight or anything. I ate pretty healthy all my life.
I just started working out. At least, If I don’t feel good, I could look good.
Purpose
My purpose is not only health and wellness—I’ve inspired so many women throughout my journey. And also, I’m a God fearing woman, so being able to introduce God or help people get closer to God, I love that.
Juggling Entrepreneurship & Motherhood
Kay: We moved around a lot because I couldn’t figure out where I wanted to live…and I homeschooled my daughter for a majority amount of time, because D.C.’s school system is ghetto.
Being an entrepreneur and a mom was hard. Very hard.
Cayla: And a teacher! And you’re a full time entrepreneur at this point?
Kay: Yes! Managing over 30 women, all different personalities.
And having my own life—it was a lot.
The Moment That Changed Everything
I should have took a break then…It was very traumatic…I was crashing out.
